I am relatively new to recording my own songs. I want to get into doing more. I think I will be getting Logic Pro, is this a fairly easy system to use or is there an easier but effective one?
It’s really only my vocals and some guitars I’ll be recording.
Wouldn’t recommend using logic for live situations. Although you can, it’s not designed with that in mind, and becomes quickly limited.
Totally agree with DanM, Logic Pro X is probably the go-to for beginners, its user-interface is super beginner friendly, and gives you access to a ton of great stock effects. Also introduces you to general music producing techniques. Only cons are of course, you have to have an Apple computer to run it.
Check out Ableton if you want to use it for live too. It was designed for live and tracking.
Logic Pro is a great system for beginners and pros. It will offer more than enough for what you need and there will a lot of synths and effects out of the box. It is only for apple machines though.
ACE. Thank you. I have a macbook air so all good there. Is logic any good for using in live gigs?
Cheers. Someone else has suggested that too so I’ll take a look. I was thinking logic pro as I already have a mac and have used garage band (a long time ago). I am concerned using a new software will be complicated but I will dig deeper into Ableton.
