Someone said they wanted an acoustic version of Taylor Swift’s 1989; how would that be different than the regular album? Is it just his album but with no electronic instruments or mixing on his vocals recorded live in one-take? Is a piano an acoustic instrument? What are acoustic instruments and what makes them different than other instruments?
IMO an acoustic album would be no instruments used that need plugging in to a power source.
Electronics would still need to be used in the recording and playback of it so multitracking, mixing and mastering would be used to get best results. Unless there is some purist acoustic album form I’m not aware of ????.
A live album is about capturing the performance and the vibe of the crowd if there is one. This would be done live in one take but still mixed and mastered. There are some that go back and add non “performance “ live tracks to it though.
